The new Dusse-Alin tunnel may be launched on BAM at the end of 2024
The new Dusse-Alin tunnel on the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) is planned to be launched in late 2024 - early 2025, the head of the tunnel group "Bamtonnelstroy-Most" Viktor Ryndych said.
He clarified that the old tunnel will be closed after the launch of the new one.
The commissioning will increase cargo turnover by up to 30% due to the launch of additional trains. According to the head of the group, now the carrying capacity is about 16-17 pairs of trains per day, and after the commissioning of the new tunnel will grow to 20-25 pairs of trains per day.
The new tunnel is being built as part of the modernization of BAM, almost 600 people and about 100 pieces of equipment are involved in the work.
