A new electric catamaran "Ecocruiser" was launched in Russia, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said.

"The uniqueness of electric vessels of the Ecocruiser project is a combination of modern technologies: electric motors with high efficiency, optimized hull contours, a high-energy battery system and modern electronics for controlling and monitoring the condition of ship systems. The Ecocruiser monitoring system allows you to collect and take into account data from ship systems, route information, information about passenger congestion online," he said.

According to the Minister, the second vessel of the Ecocruiser project is planned to be launched before the end of this year, several more vessels will be launched in 2023.
