The Estonian company for the development of unmanned technologies BaseTracK, which was created by the Russian Andrey Vavilin, sold the Russian business. This is reported by "Gazeta.Ru".
According to the publication, a group of Russian investors bought the business, including the owner of the Altika transport company Oleg Yanovsky and the co-founder of the Syndicate and AngelsDeck venture investor clubs Igor Kaloshin. The parties do not disclose the amount of the transaction.
"Since July, the Russian representative office of BaseTracK has started working under the independent brand "Energotrak". The outgoing team has started the transfer of autonomous driving and energy—efficient vehicle management technologies, as well as commercial products sold on the market: fuel economy systems for BaseTracK SF trucks," the Estonian company said in a statement.
The entire BaseTracK fleet will be transferred to Energotrack, including the only unmanned truck in Russia based on Mercedes-Benz Actros 1845. According to the company, starting from June 2022, it transports commercial cargo in unmanned mode on the route Moscow – St. Petersburg.
BaseTracK was founded by Russian Andrey Vavilin. In July 2019, he registered a company in Estonia to enter the European market.
