Domestic cinema is waiting for help from the state

Film experts answered the questions of "madeinrussia" about the fate of domestic film production:

"After February 24, 2022, the films that make up more than 80% of the box office receipts have been removed from the rental. In addition, after 2 difficult years associated with pandemic restrictions, it is not possible to recover quickly, - complains Alexey Vasyasin, general director of the Cinema Park and Formula Cinema network, - now we see a dramatic drop in the film industry by 65% - 70% from month to month. The horizon, when it will get better, is not yet visible. Filmmakers are in a state of acute uncertainty when it is not clear what to expect from the state, from the relevant ministry."

But domestic cinema will still appear in cinemas. Film experts are expecting the premiere of the historical drama directed by Anton Megerdichev in the autumn, based on the novel of the same name by Alexey Ivanov "The Heart of Parma".The film is due to be released in wide release on October 6, 2022. Experts are also waiting for the release of the film "Nuremberg" by Nikolai Lebedev. This is a big movie about the main trial of the Nazis. Sergey Bezrukov, Evgeny Mironov, Sergey Kempo, Lyubov Aksenova and many foreign artists participate in the project. "Nikolai Lebedev makes an honest and correct movie, for example, everyone's favorite movie "Legend No. 17", it's very interesting what the film "Nuremberg" will be like," says film critic David Schneiderov.

The fate of further films depends on the availability of state support for the industry.
