Zabaikalsky businessman Vadim Ognev is being tried for illegal export of large consignment of timber to China. According to the investigators, the total volume of the transaction amounted to over 40 million rubles, while the businessman did not declare any foreign currency earnings. In this connection, the investigation had grounds to believe that a fictitious deal was concluded, which resulted in damage to the Russian Federation on a particularly large scale.

"The Daursk Transport Prosecutor's Office has established supervision over the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Transbaikal customs checkpoint of the Chita customs against individual entrepreneur Vadim Ognev under Part 1 Article 193 of the RF Criminal Code (evasion from the obligation to repatriate funds in foreign currency or Russian Federation)".

The entrepreneur is threatened with forced labor for the term from three to five years, imprisonment for the term up to three years, or a fine in the amount of up to five hundred thousand rubles.
