The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies and the Beer Producers Association, which unites the largest brewing companies in Russia Heineken, AB InBev Efes and Baltika, have agreed to start digital labeling of beer products from April 1, 2023.

As specified in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for a painless implementation, the launch of labeling is divided into 3 stages: from April 1, 2023, labeling of beer products in kegs will be launched, from October 1, 2023 – in glass and PET containers, and from January 15, 2024 – in aluminum cans.

"The agreement became possible due to the fact that the APP member companies are in a constructive dialogue with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the CRPT. The parties listen to each other's arguments. The largest Russian brewing companies included in the APP joined the beer labeling experiment in 2021. Since then, repeated tests have been carried out at the breweries of the APP members to identify the best technical solutions for the implementation of labeling, which will continue. It is important to note that the parties have developed a consolidated position on a unified approach to the introduction of labeling for the entire brewing industry, regardless of the size of producers. Only such an approach will ensure the fulfillment of the goals stated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the CRPT to achieve full traceability of the supply chain and effective fight against illegal products," said Vyacheslav Mamontov, Director of the Beer Producers Association.

The Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), as the operator of the system, undertook to provide beer producers with the necessary equipment at its own expense and on interest-free installments. This will remove all the risks that could be.
