Russia has everything to make its own packaging

An experiment has begun in Russia to replace foreign packaging for products with domestic analogues. Recall that the Swedish Tetra Pak and the Norwegian Pure-Pak are leaving Russia.

In Syktyvkar, at the pulp and paper mill of the Mondi group, the production of food cardboard has already been launched, from which a similar tetrapack packaging is created.

"Our agricultural producers and processors will be provided with packaging in full. <...> We have packaging, manufacturers are working, and most importantly, analogues will not affect the quality of products directly," Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko commented on the situation.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister added, the paper manufacturer Sylvamo (produces products under a number of brands, in particular HP Papers, Rey and Hammermill) back in the spring, I started looking for ways to produce cardboard-the basis for "portion" packaging, which was used, among other things, for baby food under the brand "Agusha" with a volume of 200 ml. "Preliminary testing results have already given a positive result, and in the near future we also expect a new serial production," Abramchenko concluded.

Since February 24, many countries have imposed several packages of sanctions against Russia, which have affected, among other things, business, import, export and banking. Against this background, a number of companies announced the suspension or termination of work in Russia, some decided to transfer the business to local management.

Already in early March, Norwegian Elopak suspended production in Russia, and on July 15 announced the sale of the Russian business (Pure-Pak packaging brand) to local management. On July 26, a similar decision was announced by the Swedish Tetra Pak, which in April banned its factory in Lobnya near Moscow from printing packaging for kefir and fermented baked milk.
