The trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 36% by the end of 2021, which became a historical maximum ($141 billion). This was told by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.

During the 25th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Subcommittee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Minister noted that the positive dynamics continues in 2022. The indicators increased by another 16%.

In accordance with the agreement between the leaders of the two states, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, the volume of trade between Russia and China should increase to $ 200 billion. It is expected that by the end of 2022, the indicator will increase to $ 165- 170 billion.

Reshetnikov noted that despite the sanctions, according to the results of the first quarter of 2022, the volume of container cargo transportation of goods by China – Europe trains is growing. The parties paid special attention to the development of cooperation in the field of digital economy.
