The Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Finance of Russia intend to update the action plan for the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) in key sectors of the country's economy by October. The corresponding decision was made following a meeting of the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov with the head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadaev.

In Russia, the introduction of AI is becoming a systemic task. Within the framework of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence", tools are being developed in the country to transfer processes to domestic solutions. Federal executive authorities are already developing departmental digital transformation programs using AI projects.

At the moment, grants are already being provided to startups and AI developers, AI higher education programs are being launched and AI standards are being formed. In addition, in 2022 in Russia there will be a rating of FOIV on their implementation of AI in their activities.

According to analysts, by the end of 2021, the volume of the AI market in Russia has reached 17 billion rubles. To date, more than 300 AI development companies have received state support.
