According to the results of the first six months of 2022, the turnover of Moscow hotels and travel agencies increased by 31.3% compared to the same period in 2021. One of the reasons for the growth was the gradual recovery of the industry after the coronavirus 2021. This was stated by the Vice-mayor of Moscow, Vladimir Efimov.

According to him, the turnover of hotels in the first half of 2022 amounted to 44.7 billion rubles. In addition, the number of checks issued amounted to 7.8 million, which is 11% higher than in the period from January to June 2021.

At the same time, the revenue of Moscow travel agencies in the first six months of 2022 exceeded 269.1 billion rubles, which is 36.6% more than a year earlier. In addition, the number of checks increased by 37.3% to 25.2 million.

As the press service of the government of the capital added, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) make a significant contribution to the development of the hospitality industry. Travel agencies related to SMEs provided 53% of revenue in the first half of the year (approximately 142.2 billion rubles), in the hotel business, the share of SMEs supplied 40.2% (about 18 billion rubles).
