The Russian government will allocate over 10 billion rubles for additional payments to unemployed pensioners. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to the head of government during a meeting with ministers, the payments will be intended for pensioners whose income is below the subsistence minimum. In the near future, the funds will be sent to the regions from the federal budget.

Mishustin recalled the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin to increase the subsistence minimum by 10% from June 1. This measure increased the financial burden on the budgets of the subjects. However, federal subsidies will help the regions to compensate for the costs associated with the new payments.
