E-commerce in Russia has grown to 2 trillion rubles in 2020-2021. The growth in 2022 amounted to more than 50%, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov.

"Back in 2020, in the conditions of various COVID-restrictions, the trading business began to actively master the remote method of sales. The society supported this model, and the demand for purchases through this channel began to increase at a tremendous pace. In 2020-2021, online commerce has grown from 630 billion rubles (2019 figure) to actually 2 trillion rubles (in 2021). The growth in 2020 was about 100%, in 2021 — more than 40%, " Yevtukhov said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, buying online among Russians has already become a habit. In recent months – from January to April 2022 – compared to the same period last year, experts have recorded a 50% increase in sales, despite an almost twofold drop in the share of cross-border purchases.
