Maya Plisetskaya's apartment museum opened in Moscow
The opening of Maya Plisetskaya's apartment museum took place on Tverskaya Street in Moscow, the Ministry of Culture reported.
This apartment was presented to the Bakhrushin Theater Museum by the ballerina's widower, composer Rodion Shchedrin. The apartment will become the 12th branch of the museum.
It contains more than a thousand unique items from the archives of the Shchedrin and Plisetskaya families. During the preparation of the exposition, the museum staff studied almost 10 thousand items. For example, in the wardrobe in the trunk they found the author's lithograph of Marc Chagall with his signature.
Especially valuable exhibits were the works of Fernand Leger, Anatoly Zverev, Arthur Fonvizin, Vladimir Shakhmeister and other artists. Almost nothing was changed in the interiors of the apartment during the museification.
Plisetskaya was born on November 20, 1925 in Moscow. She was awarded many awards and prizes, was a People's Artist of the USSR, a knight of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland.
