The merchant fleet in Russia will need 41 vessels to export agricultural products
The Merchant Fleet needs to build 41 vessels by 2030 for the export of Russian agricultural products, the country's Agriculture minister Dmitry Patrushev said.
"We estimate that by 2030 we additionally need to build 41 vessels - both river-sea class to deliver products to ports, and handymax and panamax classes. The development of our own fleet is one of the priorities, especially in the current conditions, when international logistics companies create unjustified barriers to the supply of Russian food," Patrushev said at the All-Russian Field Day.
He added that there is already such an instruction from the president, and now the department, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport, are jointly dealing with this issue, as well as working out mechanisms to support the construction of such vessels.
