201

Yandex, after successfully launching delivery projects in the United States, London and Paris, began to strengthen its presence in Latin America, Kommersant learned.

According to the newspaper, the company hires employees there in delivery units, develops educational services and offers meteorological services for business.

In particular, the company has started operations in Chile, Peru, South Africa, as well as in Turkey. In addition, the newspaper writes, the Russian IT company plans to develop a project launched in March in Serbia. Also in June, the holding officially announced that it provides weather forecasting technologies to companies from Mexico and Brazil.

"Practicum" in Latin America operates under the same brand as in other countries, according to the service's website. Courses are advertised in Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Argentina. Delivery and weather forecast services operate in foreign markets under other names. For example, the first uses a variation of the YanGo brand, launched in 2018 in Ivory Coast, the second - Meteum, originally used only to designate weather forecasting technology.

The company itself does not disclose plans to expand its business in Latin America.
