R:ED Robotics Education: how to transfer schools to domestic equipment

Under the conditions of sanctions in Russia, it became necessary to transfer a number of industries to domestic technologies. Among them was the educational sphere, in which robotics from the 2022-2023 academic year will become a mandatory module of the lesson "Technology". Maxim Sushkov, Executive Director of R:ED Robotics Education, told in an interview with "Made in Russia" what is needed to transfer schools to domestic equipment."In our opinion, the solution of the problem lies in 2 planes.

This is a reduction in the cost of equipment from domestic manufacturers and the expansion of infrastructure sheets and other documentation describing the requirements for equipment," Sushkov said.

According to him, the ideal price of a constructor for primary and secondary schools, taking into account the interests of both schools and businesses, lies in the range of 30-40 thousand rubles. The class kit will thus cost 400 thousand rubles, and will include not only equipment but also techniques, software, teacher training and other necessary elements.

In addition, Sushkov drew attention to the need to standardize the methodological platform in educational robotics. This can be done, among other things, as part of the restart of the "Technology" lesson, where there is robotics — therefore, R:ED initiated the development of a new textbook that not only corresponds to the new Federal State Educational Standards, but also allows for robotics training without reference to a specific designer model.
