The draft strategy for the development of the automotive industry in Russia for the period up to 2035 has been prepared in the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The document is published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

In the explanatory note to the document, it is proposed to invest in research and development (R &D) organization of the production of components for the automotive industry in the amount of 2.7 trillion rubles.

The document also notes that stimulating the export of industry products will require financing in the amount of 500-600 billion rubles. According to the ministry, the same amount is needed to stimulate demand for Russian cars and a fleet renewal program.

At the same time, it is planned to attract the bulk of investments from the business side, as well as provide the program with state support.

One of the key objectives of the strategy is to ensure the technological sovereignty of the automotive industry. Localization is planned to be provided at the level of at least 80%.
