The indicators of Tuva's economic development, despite the sanctions, the increase in the key rate and the COVID-19 pandemic, are showing growth. This was announced at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the republic by the head of the department Aidys Sat.

According to Sat, due to active mining, the Tuva industry index increased by 37.3%. Thus, coal production increased 2.5 times and amounted to 589 thousand tons, and polymetallic ore - by 5% and amounted to 582.2 thousand tons. The growth of manufacturing production amounted to more than 24% due to the increase in the production of reinforced concrete and textile products.

Meanwhile, the volume of construction work decreased, but this fact did not affect the commissioning of new housing. In total, 10 apartment buildings with a total area of 82,177 thousand square meters were commissioned in the first half of the year. This figure was 47.8%.

The registered unemployment rate has also almost halved over the past six months — from 10.3% to 5.9%. The number of officially registered unemployed decreased from 13.7 thousand to 7.4 thousand. The number of self-employed and employed citizens has increased.

As the Minister of Economic Development noted, the volume of investments at the same time declined. The reason for this was the adjustment of the project implementation plan of the Golevskaya Mining Company.

In addition, the meeting discussed plans for the implementation of the national project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative" and the Individual program of socio-economic development of the region for 2020-2024. Acting Deputy Chairman of the Government Vladimir Donskikh pointed out the need to support small and medium-sized businesses in the current conditions. In particular, the availability of borrowed funds for development.
