Employees of the public sector will receive a salary increase from October 1. This is reported by "Prime" with reference to the Associate professor of the Economics Department of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics on Sunday, September 18.

We are talking about specialists from areas that did not fall under the May presidential decrees. Salary increases will be carried out from the federal and regional budgets.

"Employees of rescue centers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, institutions of the social sphere and hydrometeorological service, hygiene centers of Rospotrebnadzor, centers of standardization, metrology and testing of Rosstandart, rehabilitation centers for the disabled and a number of other categories can expect an increase in wages," the expert said.

According to him, representatives of other professional groups are expected to receive salary increases from January 1, 2023.

The exact size of the indexation will be approved by the authorities of the country's regions. In most of them, the size of indexing varies from 4 to 6%. But perhaps more. It depends on how much money will be allocated for these purposes in a particular region.

"The increase will affect many employees of state institutions — not only officials, but also service personnel: drivers, cleaners, janitors, movers. Even if we are talking about 1-2 thousand rubles a month in addition to the salary, this is still an increase. "It is important that such indexing does not lead to cuts, since regional budgets are usually smaller than federal ones," Timofeev added.
