"Russia will cope with 1.2 thousand Western sanctions, and with even more of them, but it is necessary not just to replace imported products, but also to create its own, fundamentally new ones," said Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rosatom State Corporation, at a gala evening on the occasion of the Day of the Nuclear Industry Worker Russia in Moscow.

"More than 1,200 sanctions have already been announced against our side. There have never been so many sanctions against any country in the world in history. We can handle these 1200. If they add something else, we will cope with them," Kiriyenko added.

He drew attention to the fact that we need "not just to ensure resistance to sanctions, not just to make import substitution. We need to create something fundamentally new. We need to create our own," Kiriyenko stressed.

According to him, the current time is "a time of real patriotism, a time of teamwork."
