Eco-friendly supercapacitor systems for trams and metro cars have been developed in Moscow
Supercapacitor systems for trams and subway cars were developed by the Moscow company "Taiten Power Solution". It allows you to significantly increase the energy efficiency of transport and reduce the carbon footprint. At the moment, the development is included in the Rosatom roadmap. This was told by the head of the capital's Department of investment and industrial policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.A supercapacitor is a relatively new type of energy storage.
It differs from conventional batteries in high power, the ability to operate at extremely low temperatures, up to -50 degrees Celsius, as well as a long service life and others.
The development is distinguished by the presence of a predictive analysis system that monitors the condition of the drives during traffic and informs in advance of the need to replace them. Due to this, the reliability of the rolling stock operation is significantly increased.
