The project of construction of a new mine at the Mir deposit in the Mirninsky district of Yakutia will be implemented within 10 years. This was announced by the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev on the air of a direct line on Monday.

"This year we have already officially announced - and work has already begun - the start of construction of a new mine at the Mir quarry, at the Mir deposit," the head of Yakutia informed. According to him, a huge, global project will be implemented within 10 years. This will allow the company "Alrosa", will allow the city of Mirny to be the "diamond" capital of our country for many, many decades," Nikolaev said.Earlier, the regional authorities reported that the Mir-Glubokiy mine construction project would create over 1,000 jobs.

On September 6, during the Eastern Economic Forum, the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, and the General Director of Alrosa, Sergey Ivanov, discussed plans for the construction of a new underground mine at the Mir diamond deposit.
