In the coming years, the packaging market in Russia will develop dynamically
The volume of the packaging market in Russia may grow by a third and reach 1.7 trillion rubles by the end of 2025. Such conclusions were made by the analysts of the Rosselkhoznadzor. According to their data, the share of eco-packaging can be up to half of the total volume of packaging produced in the country.
"At the moment, the food packaging market is estimated at 1.3 trillion rubles, 80-85 percent is accounted for by domestic enterprises. In Russia, packaging is primarily made of wood - cardboard and paper make up 36 percent of the food packaging segment, polymers (38 percent), tin and aluminum products (10 percent), glass (12 percent) and other materials," the official release of the commercial institution says. According to the bank, the main dairy producers in the country do not have a shortage of packaging materials, although a number of Russian enterprises have suspended their work.
In the cities of Svetogorsk and Syktyvkar, where paper industries operate, they are ready to replace imported raw materials with white food cardboard. There is a great opportunity in Russia to use a brown alternative type of cardboard. The bank also notes: the domestic packaging market is one of the most dynamically developing segments of the Russian economy. And in the next two years it will develop steadily, especially since in 2022 the trend for the production of domestic packaging and eco-packaging accelerated.
