The tenth anniversary meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Russian-Algerian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held in Algeria. The event was prepared by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.

"The parties expressed satisfaction with the achieved level of cooperation in finance, energy, geology, industry and transport, agriculture and education, discussed in detail promising areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as the implementation of existing projects," the official website of the ministry reports. According to representatives of the Russian delegation participating in the event, Algeria continues to be one of the key trade partners of the Russian Federation in Africa.

Thus, in 2021, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 3 million US dollars — this is 17 percent of the total volume of trade between Russia and the countries of the African continent. Further development of the country's trade and economic cooperation with Algeria will be strengthened.
