The administrative building of the Palace of Children's Creativity is in full swing, the first major overhaul in its history, which began in June with dismantling, preparatory work and removal of construction debris. Previously, the repairs were purely cosmetic in nature. By September, everything should be ready for the opening of children's technology park "Quantorum", reports PRIMPRESS.

On the progress of repair work

Repair of the Palace of Children's Creativity takes into account the preservation of architectural features of the building. According to Palace's director Oksana Solovyova, the works will be carried out in the central building as a whole and on one floor of the adjoining building, i.e. in those rooms that will house modern laboratories - quanta - where Vladivostok's schoolchildren can engage in engineering, technical and scientific creativity.

By now the floor covering, facing of ceilings, walls, columns and staircases have been dismantled. New plastic windows have already been installed in the premises, electric wiring replacement is in progress, workers also install ventilation and air conditioning system, and the case's facade is fully prepared for painting.

The work on replacement of elements of the anti-aircraft lantern - glass dome - is actively going on. The flashlight is an engineering structure, consisting of a rigid frame and translucent filling, designed for natural lighting and ventilation of interior spaces. For many years of operation in the Palace of Children's Creativity in the structures of this structure accumulated a layer of destroyed cement, bitumen and glass wool. The workers dismantled all garbage and made a new metal frame.

"We kept the swimming pool with the ship. The pool bowl is safely packed, stored under scaffolding and covered with a special tent. The ship is preparing for restoration, we have found a master who will return the symbol of the palace "second breath". It will be washed, treated with special compositions, fragile masts and rays will be repainted, and when the builders finish the repair, it will return to its original place".

Project Quantorium.

This is a federal project of a new model of children's supplementary education "Success of Every Child" of the national project "Education", proposed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives under the Government of Russia. Its main task is to develop children's creative potential, educate future high-class specialists in strategically important areas of Russian science and technology. The Quantorum Children's Technopark is not created to replace the Palace of Children's Creativity, but on the basis of the Palace as its structural subdivision.

The Quantorium Children's Technopark, which will be the 90th in Russia, will be open to children aged 10 to 17 for free. The training format includes both group and individual lessons with teachers, during which a lot of attention will be paid to practical activities.

"The technopark will create all necessary conditions for scientific and technical creativity. Lessons at its sites will contribute to the development of children's independence, independence of thinking and creativity", - said Ksenia Harlan, Director of "Quantorum" DT in Vladivostok.

More than 1000 young Vladivostok residents have already expressed their wish to study at the children's technopark "Quantorum". As noted by the technopark's management, the most popular directions were IT-quantum, hightech, mathematics and quantum chess. Due to the large number of applications, the set for these directions is already closed for the next year. At the same time, Quantum teachers continue to recruit for some quantum destinations.

Oksana Solovyova: "Some guys have got into the reserve so far, but we are sure that all wishing to make great discoveries will find a place in the "Quantorum" and other associations of the Palace of Children's Creativity.

What will happen at the Quantorium?

The "Quantorium" in Vladivostok will give children an opportunity to work with 3D printers, robots and many other latest technologies. The main training program of the children's technopark is designed for three months, we plan to receive about 800 people every three months. A child who has mastered the basic curriculum can stay in the originally selected quantum and study in an advanced program, or he can choose another quantum. More than three thousand children will be involved in events organized by the Technopark every year.

Children will be able to choose from seven scientific, technical and natural science programmes. These include IT-quantum, VR/AR-quantum, bioquantum, industrial design quantum, industrialboquantum, energy and high-tech quantum. In addition, the Technopark will provide additional training in chess, mathematics and English.

Pupils of Industrial Quantum will receive knowledge and skills in computer vision, 3D modeling and programming. They will learn the basics of mechatronics and robotics. IT-quantum, in its turn, aims to acquire fundamental knowledge in the field of information technology. They will be taught to program in popular languages (C#, JavaScript, C++), as well as to create graphic images and 3D models.

In the bioquantum laboratory children will study various biotechnologies, including cultivation of artificial tissues and organs, construction of new living organisms and artificial ecosystems.

No less interesting is the high-tech prototyping laboratory, which is equipped with 3D printers, CNC machines, laser, soldering and other modern equipment. With its help and under the guidance of a tutor here it will be possible to produce any product, from a figure of a favorite movie character and ending with a complex electronic device.

Teachers and mentors

Teaching will be provided by 39 specialists. For this purpose, they receive special training in Moscow on the basis of the Federal State Autonomous Institution "Fund for New Forms of Education Development", which is the operator of a network of children's technology parks.

Oksana Solovyova notes: "The staff schedule has already been developed and approved, 39 rates have been introduced. It is important not only to recruit personnel, but also to have time to pass the necessary training for tutors before the opening of the technopark - all of them must receive special certificates".

Thus, Oleg Shevchenko, the future mentor of industrial boquantum, this summer took part in an educational session for teachers of the children's technopark in Moscow at the Bauman MIPT. The teachers studied the history of robotics, discussed how to explain the meaning of mathematical terms to students.

Future IT-quantum mentors Evgeny Shkurin and Oleg Kozhevnikov took part in an educational session at the Skolkovo Innovation Center. An educational session in the direction of Energy Quantum was held on the basis of "Energy" company in Moscow. A teacher Vladimir Sharoshchenko took part in it from Vladivostok "Quantorum".
