The Indonesian authorities have developed a system for issuing electronic visas on arrival. According to the TASS news agency, which is reported to the main Directorate of Immigration of Indonesia, citizens of 26 countries, including Russia, China, the USA, and Japan, can use the service from November 9.

"To apply, you must provide a copy of your passport with a validity period of at least six months after the date of entry into Indonesia, a photo, and an email address. The cost of the service is 500 thousand Indonesian rupees (about $32)," the agency said in a statement.

It is known that you can pay for the service with Mastercard, Visa or JCB cards.

A visa for 30 days with the possibility of extension for the same amount can be obtained for tourism, business meetings and state visits.

According to official information, the visa is valid only if you enter the country through the airports of Jakarta and Bali. It is reported that the Indonesian authorities thus want to develop tourism and business travel, which declined during the coronavirus pandemic.
