RUSNANO's portfolio company Profotech has successfully completed a project to replace the current measurement system for a series of aluminium electrolysis enclosures at Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant (ERG Group) in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. The project was completed on a turnkey basis within five months and included production of the main measurement equipment, delivery, installation and commissioning.
The basis of the current measurement system of the series in this project is electronic-optical current transformers. Optical transformers are capable of measuring direct current without distortion and with the highest accuracy at denominations up to 400 kA in a wide temperature range and in conditions of the most powerful magnetic field effect. Energy equipment is suitable for use at hazardous industrial facilities, as well as for the construction of technical and commercial electricity metering systems and in the protection systems and automation of electrical substations and power generation facilities.
The project at KEZ was implemented by Profotech together with Elster Metronika LLC (part of Honeywell Group). It provided for delivery of a set of devices integrated into the measuring system, with integration into the plant's control system. Specialists of Elster Metronika OOO provided integration of the DC measurement system into the energy accounting system "Alfa CENTER" and into the client's SCADA.
By combining experience and expertise, the partners were able to implement in a clearly planned time a new functionality for EPC - accurate technological power metering and remote control of optical meters of Profotech JSC. The optical measurement system has come to replace the less reliable and unsuitable for the class of accuracy system based on Hall sensors.
Profotech JSC (portfolio company of RUSNANO JSC) has been developing and manufacturing products since 2010: electron-optical current and voltage transformers. Today, the company 2 Profotech is the only Russian manufacturer that has its own technology and full production of these products.
