Multifunctional center for startups will appear in Moscow

State Budgetary Institution "Small Business of Moscow", VEB Ventures and Deworkacy will open a single consulting center "Startup MFC", where start-up entrepreneurs will be able to get information about startup support programs from regional and federal development institutions, private and public investment funds.

The multifunctional center was initiated by the State Budgetary Institution "Small Business of Moscow", a subsidiary of VEB Ventures.RF, and the international network of spaces Deworkacy.

The "Startup MFC" team will create a single ecosystem between the community of small business owners and participants of the Russian venture and innovation markets. Such an initiative will accelerate the implementation of entrepreneurs' ideas and save time on searching for investors, business angels and partners to finance promising projects and develop new technologies. "MFC Startup is a logical continuation of the initiative to create Business Service Centers with the addition of public, private and corporate services.

"This year we decided to test a very unusual format for us, creating a program to advise talented technology teams in an informal setting, in their usual habitat. We expect that working with new projects and supporting them at key stages of development will allow us to expand the market for Russian technology solutions, and thanks to MFC there will be more successful start-ups in Russia," comments Oleg Teplov, CEO of VEB Ventures.

The center will open its doors to new entrepreneurs and young talents. Startup owners will be able to get advice on all issues - from launching a project to finding investments and entering foreign markets. Thus, specialists of the State Budgetary Institution "Small Business of Moscow" will tell about city programs to support entrepreneurial initiatives, VEB Ventures experts will consult on federal programs, and Deworkacy representatives will help to deal with private measures to support start-ups.

At first, the consultations will be held in two formats: Public Talk - public meetings with businessmen and representatives of venture funds, where everyone can ask a question; face-to-face meetings with the center's specialists - events of this format will be held subject to a set of necessary applications on the MFC website. Unlike the Public Talk format, speakers for face-to-face meetings will be selected based on the audience's requests.

For example, employees of the Moscow City Innovation Agency conducted a series of industry ideatons of the Urban.Tech Moscow program at the Deworkacy Big Data site in the format of face-to-face consultations for projects aimed at solving current city demands.

"There are many private and government initiatives in Russia every year that support Russian micro and small business: grant programs, hackatons with a large prize fund from the Moscow City Government, new investment funds, private and corporate accelerators, business subsidies, tax benefits. It is not always possible to keep track of such a large volume, as well as to choose the most useful programs for your business. The experts of our joint Center will help technology teams to navigate through all support measures, help to organize consultations with specialized specialists, will invite to profile events held in Deworkacy", - comments on the launch of the new project Andrey Kulagin, Managing Director of the Deworkacy network.

It is planned that in the first year of "Startup MFC" work about 10 thousand people from Moscow and regions will become its clients.

"One of the tools to support business and develop the urban ecosystem of Moscow is the online service MBM.MOS "Share an Idea with the City", where entrepreneurs can offer their ideas and solutions to improve the business environment. There we received a request to expand opportunities for effective interaction with the city, supported it and decided to transfer it to the format "Startup MFC". I am sure that such a step will accelerate the implementation of entrepreneurs' ideas," said Andrey Zheleznyakov, General Director of the State Budgetary Institution "Moscow Small Business".
