More than 500 tram cars need to be replaced in 10 cities of the country. The federal program for the integrated development of urban electric transport is aimed at solving this problem. This was told by the head of the Russian government staff Dmitry Grigorenko.

"The key is, from the point of view of the project figures, in terms of budget, in terms of money — this is about 256 billion rubles — this is the volume of investments, this is really quite a lot of money. In terms of terms, it is 3-5 years. More than 500 tram cars in general in these cities are subject to replacement and commissioning and several hundred electric buses with at least 30-40 charging stations in these cities," Grigorenko said during a working trip to Nizhny Novgorod.

To the program for the development of urban electric transport with the support of VEB.The Russian Federation includes 10 cities. Trams will be replaced there and tram tracks will be taken care of. According to Grigorenko, a digital public transport management platform will be launched in all participating cities, which will allow building routes based on the principle of demand.
