In the Moscow region, almost 21 thousand students of grades 5-9 went on free tourist trips around the region thanks to the school tourism program, which is implemented under the national project "Tourism and the Hospitality Industry", the Ministry of Information and Social Communications of the region reported.

"Students of the Moscow region visited the most interesting places of the region within the framework of the program. Routes to Sergiev Posad City District, as well as to the city districts of Kolomna, Istra, Serpukhov, Chekhov, Ruzsky and Mytishchi are very popular," said Irina Kaklyugina, Vice-Governor of the Moscow Region.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 160 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets have been allocated for organizing trips for children from the Moscow region. 18 subjects of the Russian Federation take part in the school tourism program, 100 thousand schoolchildren will go on tourist trips by the end of 2023.
