Roskomnadzor introduced the platform "Zen.News" to the register of news aggregators. This is evidenced by the data on the agency's website. Currently, the register of news aggregators also includes information resources "Rambler/news", "SMI2" and "Новости@mail.ru ".

Previously, it also included "Yandex.News". In September 2022, VK announced the closing of a service exchange deal with Yandex. VK acquired the Zen and Novosti content platforms, and the Delivery Club service, which previously belonged to VK, was transferred to Yandex, the company said. Then VK also announced that it had obtained the rights to the technologies and identity of the Zen and News services and was registering the transfer of rights to the Zen trademark.

Within the established powers, Roskomnadzor has been maintaining a register of news aggregators since January 1, 2017. It includes sites and (or) pages of sites that are used for processing and distributing news information on the Internet with the possibility of advertising distribution and which are visited by more than 1 million Internet users during the day.

The owner of the news aggregator is obliged to comply with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation when processing and distributing news information, store for six months the news information distributed by him, information about the source of its receipt and the timing of its distribution, as well as provide Roskomnadzor access to this information, the agency's website clarifies.
