In this position, he will replace Nikolai Khodosevich, who was appointed acting CEO of Aurus in January 2022.

"With great joy and responsibility, I am ready to start fulfilling new, ambitious tasks to increase the pace of industrialization of the project, increase the dynamics of volume growth, as well as scaling Aurus as a brand, with a multidirectional, comprehensive promotion strategy both in Russia and within the framework of expansion plans to export markets," Pankov said, whose words are given in the company's message.

The brand "Aurus" is one of the first national brands with the sign "Made in Russia", which was formed on the basis of the project implemented since 2012 by FSUE "NAMI" to create executive cars for top officials of the state. Since 2016, NAMI has been conducting small-scale production of Aurus machines at its facilities. Serial production of "Aurus Senat" sedans was launched in May 2021 at the plant in Yelabuga, where at the end of November this year the production of a new luxury SUV "Aurus Komendant" was also launched.

"Andrey Pankov will lead a unique project that contributes to strengthening the technological sovereignty of the country, the emergence of new competencies and high-tech solutions used in the automotive industry," Albert Karimov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said in an official statement.

The new CEO has extensive managerial experience in the automotive industry. From 2005 to 2014, he held senior positions in the Russian branches of Hyundai and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Russia, and his last place of work was Renault, where he worked as CEO from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, Pankov was appointed CEO of the ADB Group of Companies, one of the leaders of the Russian marketing and advertising industry.

In addition, Andrey Pankov worked for several years as a member of the Strategic Council for Investments in New Industries under the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, the Council for Industrial Development of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, as well as other business public organizations of Russia.
