The Moscow research and production enterprise "Thorium" of the Rostec State Corporation has developed an electronic device for amplifying radio waves. According to the creators, it can be used in medical equipment, inspection complexes and other equipment. This was told in the press service of the capital's Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
"The new device will contribute to further development in various fields: from the production of medical equipment to advanced research in the field of atomic physics. The company has already successfully launched it into mass production. The planned output volume is 10 devices per year," the report says.
It is noted that the key parameters of linear accelerators, such as radiation dose rate and penetrating power, directly depend on the characteristics of microwave energy sources. The new characteristics will allow the use of high-tech developments in mobile inspection complexes, compact radiotherapy complexes and other devices. The device showed record results - an output pulse power of 3 MW at a frequency of 9,300 MHz with high efficiency due to the use of a new design principle for such products.
