Over $20 billion has been the total volume of parallel imports to Russia since the beginning of such a regime.

"These are mainly cars, machine tools, equipment, light industry goods," says Vladimir Bulavin, head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The decision to introduce the import of a number of goods through the so-called parallel import was made in May. By December, 2.4 million tons of goods were imported into the country.

Bulavin says that this affects the overall stabilization of prices in the market. At the same time, customs officers continue to fight counterfeit goods — more than 7 million units of such products were tried to be imported into Russia during the year.
