By March, banks that participate in the Russian Mir payment system must implement the Mir Pay service for online payments. The press service of the National Payment Card System RIA Novosti reported that the requirement will be mandatory for all participants of the Mir payment system. In order to realize this opportunity, participants and trade and service enterprises will receive a development kit - it will help pay with the help of the service.

The National Payment Card System says that some banks already conduct online payments using Mir Pay.

"Mir Pay is a special application of the Mir payment system for contactless payment with a smartphone," the agency notes.

The message clarifies that the Mir card data is not stored in the smartphone and is not disclosed during payment. The card number is replaced with a special digital code — a token.
