Russia exported oil to China from the Arctic

Gazprom Neft made its first delivery of Arctic oil to China.

It is Novy Port oil, which was produced at the Novoportovskoye field. The total volume of 144 thousand tons was delivered to the Chinese port of Yantai.

It took 47 days for the tanker to reach Yantai from Murmansk.

Just to remind: within 7 years "Gazprom Neft" has delivered more than 40 million tons of oil of Novy Port and ARCO grades from the Arctic regions.

Oil is delivered using a special oil production platform, as well as the Arktika Gateway oil loading terminal in the Gulf of Ob, a reinforced ice-class tanker fleet including liquefied natural gas vessels, escort icebreakers and an offshore transshipment facility in Murmansk.

The use of the Kapitan digital Arctic logistics management system ensures efficient and safe movement.

The Novoportovskoye field is located on the Yamal peninsula, far from the transport pipeline infrastructure. The hydrocarbons are shipped all year round using the "Gateway to the Arctic" oil terminal.

Earlier it became known that last month the world supply of oil fell to 86.9 million barrels per day. Such indicators have become the lowest for the last 9 years. This was announced by the International Energy Agency. Such a small amount of oil companies produced in 2011 due to fears of recurrence of global recession.

According to media reports, the pandemic and lower demand led some of the largest oil producers, including Russia and Saudi Arabia, to sign documents on record production cuts of 9.7 million bpd under the OPEC+ deal, which will be valid for 2 years, until May 2022.

Also, the G20 countries, which are not members of OPEC+, agreed to reduce production. Among them are the United States and Canada. This could lead to an overall cut in production of around 19 mln bpd globally.
