A new plant for production of high-purity salt was opened in Volgograd. Its cost amounted to RUB 800 million.

It will produce 80,000 tonnes of salt annually.

Solid sodium chloride is extracted in the depths of the deposit, which is close to the enterprise itself. First of all, the plant has launched production of crystalline salt, and at the end of the year it will start producing tableted salt.

Andrei Bocharov, Governor of the Volgograd Oblast, visited the new production facility. In addition, he visited the NikoMag plant, which has been producing magnesium oxide and hydroxide for 5 years. For example, in 2019, the enterprise produced surface-modified magnesium hydroxide with a capacity of 10 thousand tons per year. The cost of this project exceeded RUB 250 million.

This alkali is used in the creation of composites, batteries for smartphones, batteries for electric transport. The products are popular abroad - in China, South Korea, the United States and European countries.

Earlier it became known that the Russian company Gazprom Neft sent 144 thousand tons of Novy Port oil from the Arctic to China.
