Russian Railways received another crushed stone cleaning complex SCHOM-1400 from Remputmash plant in Kaluga. The new equipment was the twentieth one that Russian Railways ordered from the company.

Let us remind that the railway company ordered such complexes 3 years ago for the first time. During this time, the machines have cleaned 1.5 thousand km of ballast.

Such cleaning equipment is used in track repair and modernization. The cleaning increases stability of the tracks, which in turn has a positive impact on the speed of trains running on this section of the railway.

The new complex considerably surpasses their predecessors in terms of functionality and capacity.

As General Director of the manufacturing company Sergey Shunin has specified, for example, changes have been made in the construction, due to which the speed of operations has increased, while nodes and units have become more reliable. He stressed that successful improvements are used in other complexes.

New SHOM-1400 is equipped with special systems, which allow carrying out diagnostics. In addition, complexes have video surveillance and control system of working bodies. They are also able to regulate the operation of the chute and lifting-and-riding device in a remote mode.

Due to the fact that this equipment is often used in the dark, it is equipped with strong lighting.
