Coursera conducted a study which showed that Russia is a leader in terms of competencies in technology and data science.

The rating also shows that our country is in the top ten in business, ranking ninth.

During the study, the company studied data on 65 million students on the platform and took as a basis the information on the results of their studies for the last year, and then evaluated the level of skills in 60 countries, 10 industries and 11 areas of training.

As a result, Russia, Belarus and Switzerland were in the top three in technology. The United States was ranked 37th, Germany was ranked twelfth and France was ranked eighth.

In the field of data science Switzerland and Belgium follow Russia. The first in business competences was Switzerland, the second line was Austria, and the third place went to Denmark.

As noted by Coursera, Russia's leadership in technical skills indicates the high quality of technical education in Moscow universities and institutes in St. Petersburg, Tomsk and Novosibirsk.

At the same time, about a third of graduates now lack business skills during their studies, Coursera says, citing a survey by Russia as the Country of Opportunity.
