The master plan of the Russian synchrotron was approved
The Central Design and Technology Institute (CDTI) and the Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have developed and approved the master plan for the facilities of the Siberian Ring Photon Source (SKIF), which is to be built near Novosibirsk by the end of 2023.
The SKIF is a megascience facility, a source of synchrotron radiation of Generation 4+, with an energy of 3 GeV. It is being created as part of the "Science" national project in the Novosibirsk region as part of a modern Russian network of next-generation synchrotron radiation sources. SKIF will consist of the accelerator complex and the developed user infrastructure. This will include experimental stations and a laboratory building which will be used for innovative research in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, and medicine.
