Russia opens largest coal mine and offshore coal terminal

A resident of the Southern Yakutia Advanced Development Territory has launched the first stage of Russia's largest coal mine, Inaglinskaya, and the first stage of the country's largest marine coal terminal, VaninoTransUgol, in Yakutia's Khabarovsk Territory. The project "Made in Russia" was told about it in Yakutia's press center in Moscow.

As expected, the processing capacity of the mine and the mining and processing plant "Inaglinskaya-2" will be about 6 million tons of coal per year. The launch of these enterprises will enable the country to secure a strong foothold in the top three global producers and foreign suppliers of coking coal.

It is worth noting that the mine is the most ambitious project of the Russian coal industry, as there have been no similar construction projects in this area since the Soviet Union. The production capacity will be gradually increased up to 12 million tons of coal a year.

Due to the fact that the industrial site of the plant is integrated with the surface mine complex, it will be possible to reduce expenses on delivery of raw coal. At "Inaglinskaya-2" there will be conducted enrichment of coal grades, which are valuable technological raw materials for iron-and-steel industry. The coal concentrate will be sold on the domestic market and in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to the mine and the plant, the largest coal terminal in Russia was opened in the Vanino district of Khabarovsk Krai. It is intended for transshipment of high-quality coking coals that are extracted in Southern Yakutia. Together with the new mine and plant, the terminal forms an integrated production and logistics complex for coal mining, processing, transportation and transshipment for export to the Asia-Pacific region.
