Russia increased exports to the US by 68%

From January to August this year, Russia increased its shipments of agricultural products to the United States by 68% compared to the same period last year, reaching $82 million.

First place among the exported goods in this segment is taken by frozen crabs - 955 tons worth $20 million. As noted in the Federal Customs Service of Russia, for such a period in 2019, the physical volume was less than 1 ton. As a result, the U.S. has fallen into the top 5 buyers of frozen crabs from Russia this year.

On the second line in terms of supplies to America were confectionery products. Exports of these products in volume have increased by 34% compared to the previous year, up to 2.2 thousand tons, in monetary terms - by 26%, to $6.7 million.

Russia has also increased sales of fish fillets, alcohol, frozen fish, ice cream and molasses to this country.

It is worth noting that the United States is the world's largest exporter of agro-industrial products. However, at the same time this country is the largest importer. According to ITC Trade Map, last year the US exported $142 billion worth of its own food, while importing $166 billion worth of goods.
