Marketplace Ozon has launched its own new logistics centre, or fullfilment factory, near Rostov-on-Don.

The area of the centre supplies almost 40 thousand m²; up to 80 thousand parcels will be processed here daily.

Thanks to the launch, the delivery time of orders to residents from 2 thousand nearby settlements will be reduced to one day.

More than RUB 2 billion were invested in the creation of this factory. According to experts' forecasts, investments will be repaid in 5-6 years, but the company does not disclose expected payback period.

The logistics center was officially opened in October, but since August it has been working in test mode. About 8 mln commodities can be stored there at one time.

The construction of the first phase cost 2 billion rubles, including about 800 million rubles invested by Ozon. - The rest of the amount was invested by A2Group. According to the press service of the marketplace, the building of the center was built and belongs to A2Group, while Ozon signed a long-term lease agreement.

Next year the hub is to be expanded to 65 thousand square meters.
