In July 2019, the Russian company NCC, a leader in the composites market, supplied CarbonWrap external reinforcement systems to the Republic of Belarus, which were used to repair the two largest overpasses in the country - "Baranovichi-Polesky" and "Western Bypass".

The inspection of "Baranovichi-Poleski" overpass revealed defects in beam concrete and above-normative deflections of the structure due to corrosion of the stretch zone reinforcement. As a result the decision was made to reinforce the span structures with special CarbonWrap Lamel T lamellae which are used for the structures of high responsibility. The necessary repair work was carried out by the state enterprise "BeldorNII". On completion of this work, on-site tests were conducted which showed that the parameters of the reinforced overpass span structures fully meet all the design requirements.

The second overpass - the "Western Bypass", passing over the railway tracks, was reinforced with the use of carbon plastic lamellae and fabrics on the basis of carbon fiber. The need for reinforcement at this facility was caused by significant defects, including cracks in some spans of the middle part, which arose due to violation of the pouring and formwork removal technology. All necessary repairs were carried out without stopping the railway trains.

Such an updated design allows for a more realistic flight simulation.
