China bought $3.2 billion worth of food products from Russia in 2020

Russia exported nearly 4 million tons of food products worth $3.2 billion to China in the first 10 months of this year.

In physical terms, the volume of supplies increased by 32%, and in value terms the growth was 24%.

China still remains the largest importer of agro-industrial products from the Russian Federation with a share of 14%, not taking into account exports to the Eurasian Economic Union from September to October. PRC is the leading buyer of domestic fish, sunflower, rapeseed and soybean oils, soy beans, poultry and beef, wheat flour, chocolate and honey.

This year, the growth drivers of agricultural exports from Russia remained the oil and meat products. Supplies of sunflower oil increased 2.2 times compared to last year's figures to 447 million dollars. This allowed China to become the leader among importers of domestic sunflower oil in 2020.

Exports of soybean oil almost doubled to 213 million dollars (290 thousand tons), and rapeseed oil increased by 30%. Russian exporters of sunflower meal received accreditation at the beginning of the current year, and as a result, 26 thousand tons of these products to the amount of 12 million dollars were sold to China in 10 months.
