Russia increased agro-industrial exports to China by 24%

Exports of Russian agricultural products to China have increased by 24% since the beginning of 2020 compared to last year.

In total, Russia shipped more than 3.7 million tons of food products worth $3.2 billion to China during this period. The country, the Ministry of Agriculture said, accounted for 14% of the total volume of all domestic agricultural exports.

The increase was due to higher exports of oil and fats and meat products. Thus China became the leader among the importers of sunflower oil from the Russian Federation. Supplies of this product grew 2.2 times to 447 million dollars.

Supplies of soybean oil also increased by 1.8 times up to 213 million dollars and rapeseed oil - by 30% up to 179 million dollars.

Almost two-thirds (65%) of poultry exports come from China. This year Russian companies have sold these products to China for 226 million dollars, which is almost 3 times more than last year.

At the same time, sales of crustaceans, rape seeds, meat flour, soy beans, flax seeds, confectionary sugar and ice cream to China have grown.
