Rosatom's integrator started producing energy storage units

RENERA, Rosatom's industry integrator for energy storage systems, launched a new pilot production of energy storage units.

Research and development work, production and testing of prototypes will take place at the polymetal plant in Moscow. This will include the production of energy storage devices for logistics, DC power supply systems, uninterruptible power supplies and electric buses. After all the tests, the samples will be put into mass production at Centrotech.

Among the first orders is the development and assembly of test samples of energy storage units for Balkancar, a major European manufacturer of specialized and logistic electric vehicles.

As Emin Askerov, General Director of RENERA, said that the launch of production in the Russian capital will make it possible to establish and speed up the whole chain from development of a prototype and its testing to putting it into mass production. Such production, according to him, is indispensable when the client needs a prompt solution.

Let us remind you that RENERA currently operates in three segments, namely it produces lithium-ion batteries for passenger electric transport, deals with in-plant and logistics technology and develops solutions for the energy sector.

The company plans to take 40 percent of the domestic energy storage market.
