The first samples of electric copper foil were made in Russia

The Kyshtym Copper Electrolyte Plant in the Chelyabinsk Region was able to obtain the first samples of electrolytic copper foil.

In total, the company produced 8 meters of such foil with the thickness of 35 microns. In the future, this technological line will enable the shops to produce foil with thickness from 9 to 105 microns according to international standards. These sizes are now the most in demand.

Such production is the only one in the country and will soon completely replace the import of high-tech material for the production of lithium-ion batteries of electric cars, printed circuit boards for electronics and instrumentation - from smartphones and household appliances to aircraft construction.

Construction began two years ago. More than 3 billion rubles have been invested in the project implementation. The most modern equipment of leading European and Asian manufacturers is installed here.

Annual production capacity will be 1.2 thousand tons of foil.

According to Andrei Kudryavtsev, General Director of the enterprise, this product has never been produced in the country before. According to him, the planned volume will be enough to fully meet the needs of Russian high-tech electronics manufacturers. It is also planned to supply the foil to foreign markets.
