Rosgeologiya has got a domestic drilling rig Taimyr-R1, which is used for deep exploratory drilling for oil and gas in the Extreme North.

It will be put into operation in the first half of the next year.

The rig has been designed and manufactured by the Uralo-Sibirskaya Industriya Kompaniya (Ural-Siberian Industrial Company). For 15 years the company produces complete drilling rigs for cluster and stationary drilling.

Taimyr-R1 is a modern drilling rig with an AC electric variable frequency drive with digital control system. It was designed specifically for the needs of the Arctic region, taking into account strong winds and low temperatures.

Due to continuous modernization of its rig fleet, Rosgeologiya will be able to fulfill government contracts for parametric drilling with high quality and in time and compete in the commercial market of exploratory drilling.

For example, Rosgeologiya's subsidiary Nedra now owns a fleet of five drilling rigs and three well test rigs. The average age of each of the rigs is under 7 years old.
