Agricultural holding Agroterra invested 2.9 billion rubles in a new project in the Penza region.

The holding will build infrastructure for seed processing and seed testing, Governor Ivan Belozertsev told RIA Novosti.

He said that the company invested about 2.9 billion roubles into the regional economy and created 200 new jobs.

Earlier the local government announced that the agricultural holding intends to invest 400 million rubles in the creation of a seed plant in the Penza Region. According to the project, an infrastructure for cultivation, production and sales of wheat and soybean seeds will appear there.

Currently, Agroterra has four elevators in the region.

Agroterra Group (portfolio company of American private equity fund NCH Capital) grows soybeans, sugar beets, rapeseed, wheat and sunflowers. It also cultivates over 200 thousand hectares. Production is spread over 24 farms in six regions of Russia.
